The Deputy Minister of Communications, Ms Stella Ndabeni Abrahams, will hand over bicycles and school shoes to learners of Hlophe High and Remington Primary Schools in Uthukela District, KZN on 26 July 2016.
This is in partnership with the MTN Foundation which is donating the bicycles and shoes through its “21 Days of Y’ello Care,” an annual programme whereby MTN employees reach out and offer assistance to disadvantaged communities. Through this partnership, 50 learners from each school who travel 10km or more to and from Hlophe High and Remington Primary Schools will receive bicycles and school shoes.
The Deputy Minister will further engage with the learners and community members about the role of the youth in moving South Africa forward, challenges faced by the youth and the education, bursaries and career guidance opportunities available.
