Judgment in the urgent matter between Patricia de Lille and the DA regarding the cessation of her membership will be delivered tomorrow.

Judges Patrick Gamble and Monde Samela will make their ruling around lunchtime.

Acting mayor Ian Nielson will hold off on appointing a new mayoral committee until after the judgment is delivered.

DA to lay extortion and corruption charges against Manana

The DA will today lay a complaint of extortion and corruption with the police against former deputy minister of Higher Education Mduduzi Manana.

Last week, domestic worker Christine Wiro, employed by the ANC MP, opened an assault case against him which she later withdrew.

An audio recording has since surfaced in which Manana offers the worker R100 000 to drop the matter.

Mnqasela said during the six public hearings, which were held in Caledon, Beaufort West, Paarl, George, Klawer, and the last one in Cape Town this past week, the communities welcomed the opportunity to participate in these discussions.
