South African Broadcasting Corporation COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng wonders whether privately-owned media has an agenda against the public broadcaster.
He told journalists at its Auckland Park head office yesterday that he didn’t believe the SABC was censoring content.
Motsoeneng said transformation was non-negotiable and denied that there were problems within the organisation.
Motsoeneng had been criticised for his decision last month to no longer air footage of the destruction of property during protests.
Parliament has already started looking at possible replacements for MP Thoko Didiza, National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete said yesterday.
She said there was a minimum of three people who would be leaving parliament.
Mbete said Parliament was already "interacting with the relevant structures" to fill those vacancies.
The ANC announced Didiza as its mayoral candidate for Tshwane last Sunday which sparked a week of protests, looting, and destruction of property in several parts of the metro.
Five people were killed and scores arrested.
The chairperson tasked with finding a replacement for public protector Thuli Madonsela was adamant that she had not been lobbied by the ruling party regarding the post.
Makhosi Khoza said Luthuli House had not contacted her or directed her to speak to anybody whatsoever.
She said she had been briefing her chief whip about where the process was.
One of the candidates on the list was ANC MP Loyiso Mpumlwana, a member of the justice committee in Parliament.
