EFF claims that State, not just Guptas, spy on Malema

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema is being spied on by the government as well as by the Guptas, the party alleged yesterday.

EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said in a statement that beyond the Guptas it was the State that was actually spying on the Commander-in-Chief.

He claimed that they also illegally monitor Malema’s calls and have been doing so for some time.

News24, amaBhungane and Scorpio reported that recently leaked emails from the Guptas and their business associates showed that Malema was one of a number of prominent South Africans apparently being spied on by the family.

Fransman tells Ramaphosa to reject thuggery happening in his name

Suspended Western Cape ANC leader, Marius Fransman, yesterday called for Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to distance himself from the alleged thuggery taking place in his name in the province.

Fransman has been suspended by the ANC for five years because of misconduct, however, he believes he is still the party’s chairperson in the province.

In a statement, he said, he always maintained the attack on him was because of his strongest views against monopoly capital, and his statement in the September NEC 2015 that there was a plot of leaders trying to sabotage the ANC, and working with the opposition.

Jeff Radebe says ANC needs to examine itself ahead 2019 elections

Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe yesterday said the ANC needed to examine itself critically, individually and collectively, ahead of the 2019 national elections.

He stated that each member of the ANC must devote himself or herself to building the party.

Radebe was speaking at the OR Tambo Memorial Lecture at the Lakeside Community Hall in Midvaal.

He spoke about what it took to be a selfless cadre and that there was no better time to speak about the subject considering the challenges that the movement was facing with its alliance partners.
