ANC thrashes out plan to reclaim Western Cape

The ANC has a clear plan on how it intends to reclaim the Western Cape from the DA says the party's secretary general Gwede Mantashe.

Yesterday, the party officials concluded a second round of talks to come up with a plan which was still under wraps as it still had to be presented to the ANC's national executive committee later this week.

Mantashe said the focus would be on revitalising the ANC to reclaim the province from the DA in the 2019 general elections.

'Controversy' as Lungu wants to run for re-election in 2021

Zambian leader Edgar Lungu has been re-nominated to run as the Patriotic Front presidential candidate in 2021, a move that could trigger controversy over his constitutional eligibility to stand, a report says.

According to reports, the ruling PF's top decision-making body made the decision over the weekend.

Lungu’s critics reportedly believed that he would not be eligible to stand as he had served as president twice.

Malema to visit KZN ahead of EFF birthday bash

The EFF leader Julius Malema is expected to visit the University of KwaZulu-Natal today, in preparation for the party’s fourth birthday celebrations.

The event will be held at the Curries Fountain stadium in Durban on Saturday.

Malema previously told News24 that the party decided to hold the event in KwaZulu-Natal because it wanted to end the African National Congress’s dominance in the province.

In the 2014 general elections, the party received 1.16-million votes, making it the country’s third official opposition.
