Judgment in the case of the four South African Broadcasting Corporation employees who were fired will be handed down in Cape Town tomorrow, trade union Solidarity said today.

Solidarity chief executive Dirk Hermann said the union would liaise to get a venue [in Gauteng] to gather at 09:45 tomorrow for a livestream of the judgment, and then have a briefing with all the applicants.

The four journalists were asking the court to set aside their dismissals, and that their disciplinary processes be revoked in its entirety.

The ANC should stop using the apartheid legacy for not delivering services to the people, EFF leader Julius Malema said yesterday.

Speaking at an EFF August 3 municipal elections rally at the Zamdela Stadium in Sasolburg in the Free State, Malema lambasted the ANC leadership.

He said the ANC was still using the apartheid legacy to cover incompetency and did not "care about black people".

The August 3 elections will be the first time the EFF – formed in 2013 – contests the local government elections countrywide.

The ANC will find out on the morning of August 4 that they are now the second biggest party in Nelson Mandela Bay, DA leader Mmusi Maimane said yesterday.

He told supporters at a rally in Missionvale in Port Elizabeth in support of mayoral candidate Athol Trollip that the DA was getting bigger and stronger in every community.

Maimane urged the Nelson Mandela Bay community to give the DA a chance just as the people of Cape Town gave them a chance back in 2006.
