The EFF leader Julius Malema's comments regarding the Gupta family and its media outlets go against the Constitution and incited violence, the ANC said yesterday.

The ANC national spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said  Malema was was violating the very same Constitution which allowed him to be in Parliament.
He said Malema's statement was nothing but a call to suspend the Constitution.

Addressing the media in Johannesburg yesterday, Malema said the Gupta family, which was seen to have close ties to the ANC and some of its top leaders, should leave the country.

He also told journalists who worked for Gupta-owned media not to attend EFF events.

Nelson Mandela's grandson, Chief Zwelivelile 'Mandla' Mandela, has condemned the charges laid against former president FW De Klerk and former Minister of Law and Order Adriaan Vlok in a statement released on Wednesday.

He said as the Royal House of Mandela they viewed the case as opportunistic, contrary to the spirit of national reconciliation and an attack on the very edifice that underpined our democracy.

Mandela said the Royal House of Mandela called on the newly-formed Anti-Racism Action Forum to reconsider the consequences of their action against De Klerk and Vlok and desist from waking up the ghosts of apartheid.

The forum laid 22 criminal charges against De Klerk and Vlok on Wednesday, for crimes committed against black people.

Mandela said it was inconceivable that any sane-minded person would seek to unravel the work of the TRC and its process of restorative justice.

The ANCYL in Gauteng has described this week's provincial cabinet reshuffle as a "recycling of old faces and friends".

ANCYL Gauteng Provincial chair Matome Chiloane said the province was a vibrant, youthful province and in line with the ANCYL national congress resolution on 40% youth representation within all leadership and governance structures.

Chiloane said they expected government to be at the forefront of embracing that call and to give space to young talent.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura on Tuesday night, during an announcement on a cabinet reshuffle, appointed ANC provincial chairperson Paul Mashatile as MEC of human settlements and co-operative governance and traditional affairs.

Also making headlines:

The ANC said opposition parties were not interested in finding a solution to the Nkandla saga.

And, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has declared a state of disaster in most rural parts of the country severely hit by a drought, with 26% of the population said to be in need of food aid.
