The National Prosecuting Authority said it would not comment on President Jacob Zuma’s letter in which Zuma requests reasons why National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams and others should not be suspended.

Zuma requested written representations from Abrahams, Director of Public Prosecutions Sibongile Mzinyathi and Acting Special Director of Public Prosecutions Dr Torie Pretorius.

Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane wants President Jacob Zuma to be criminally investigated for allegedly being implicated in dodgy Gupta-linked dealings.

Maimane said the contents of the Public Protector's State of Capture report, had shown that Zuma had directly instructed Themba Maseko, the head of Government Communication and Information System at the time, to direct government's advertising funds to the Gupta-owned publication The New Age.

Maimane said he would make sure that this matter was followed through.

Former Wits SRC president Mcebo Dlamini believes his political foes have set their sights on him, Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema, and Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

He supported Malema at his court appearance in Bloemfontein on Monday, because he believed he was his "co-accused.

Dlamini said it was clear that charges against him, Malema, and Gordhan were politically motivated.

He found it sinister that National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams met President Jacob Zuma and Justice Minister Michael Masutha just days before the three were prosecuted.

Dlamini vowed to fight against injustice.
