Mary Khanyisa Malope from Extension two in Hamanskraal has finally become a homeowner after waiting for her title deed since 2002.

The Malope family is among 3 000 other families who have received title deeds across Tshwane. This comes as the DA-led City of Tshwane has already issued more than half of the 6 000 title deeds that it aims to issue in the 2017/2018 financial year.

The title deeds were recently issued to home owners in Atteridgeville, Olievenhoutbosch, Winterveldt, Cullinan, Soshanguve, Hamanskraal and Mamelodi. This is how Mary Malope became a home owner for the first time.

The title deeds backlog left by the previous ANC administration is currently estimated to be at 7 892 uncollected title deeds. This is because the ANC was too busy enriching itself to care about meeting the needs of people like Mary and her family.

Total change is coming to the people of Tshwane and the DA-led administration is working hard to improve the lives of communities. We want our people to legally own their properties.

The DA-led administration in the City of Tshwane is also hard at work upgrading informal settlements. The ANC-Mayoral Mansion was sold last year, and enough money was raised to build 52 RDP houses for our people.

900 new houses have been completed and have been allocated to beneficiaries in Refilwe Manor, Fort West, Mamelodi, Zithobeni, Kudube and Olievenhoutbosch.

471 residents were also moved from the dolomitic Brazzaville to serviced stands in Atteridgeville Extension 19.

We realise that it won’t happen overnight, but housing delivery remains a priority for the DA. Total change is on the way for the people of Tshwane and Gauteng as a whole. The DA is the only party that can bring about a new beginning.
