The Communist Party of Swaziland joins the entire working class of the world in mourning the death of a gallant soldier for a communist world, Comrade Trần Đại Quang. At the time of his death, Comrade Trần Đại Quang was serving as the President of Vietnam.

Joined by the working class of Swaziland in its entirety, the Communist Party of Swaziland sends its heartfelt condolences to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, for the loss of their President. In the same spirit we also extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives of Comrade Trần Đại Quang.

The members of the Central Committee of our Party, on its meeting held on 29 September 2018, observed a moment of silence to mourn the passing of Comrade Trần Đại Quang and also reflect on his selfless contribution to the struggle for the freedom of all peoples.

Comrade Trần Đại Quang dedicated his life to the fight against imperialism and exploitation. He joined the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1980. His contribution led him to become a member of the Party’s Central Committee and Politburo. In 2016 he became the President Vietnam, serving diligently in that position. He has been a true inspiration for the oppressed people of Swaziland as they fight against the oppressive Mswati autocracy.

History continues to recall the atrocities that the people of Vietnam went through during the imperialist aggression that was led by the United States from 1955 to 1975. The war, during which the United States bombarded the people with weapons of mass destruction, still impacts the people of Vietnam today. We remain inspired by the people of Vietnam in defending the sovereignty of their country during the war.

The Communist Party of Swaziland will continue to fight, side by side with the Communist Party of Vietnam and the entire working class of the world, against imperialism and for communism – which will mark the end of the oppression of one class by another, one person by another and one nation by another – that is, a classless society.

Our journey in Swaziland towards the goal of communism necessarily includes the fight against the tinkhundla system of Swaziland, which is nothing but a dictatorship of the monarch. The Communist Party of Swaziland will continue to wage a relentless struggle for the overthrow of the absolute monarch and the construction of a people’s democratic republic in the territory of Swaziland.
