COSATU Free State hereby supports the demands of NUMSA members in the engineering sector in the Province. As the Federation we know that a decision to strike does not come lightly by the workers it is a decision that involves sacrifice and dedication.

We support the steps taken by the workers to demand a fair share of their contribution to the economic activity which labour is a crucial part of and commend the workers for standing up against the powerful bosses to make their demands known.

We call on the employers to accede to the demands of the workers within the sector. We make this call especially because workers are the ones who produce their super-profits. We call on the employers to stop being intransigent at meet the demands of the workers who are actually people making the money for the employers.
