The Congress of South African Trade Union in North West declares its readiness for the celebration of the International May Day which will be held in Lichtenburg Rugby Stadium on Sunday, 01 May 2016.
We are calling upon all workers with their families and community to come and celebrate this important Day.
This year’s May Day Theme is ‘Celebrating 30 Years and Defending Collective Bargaining, Workers’ Job and Rights’.
We will continue to roll out the following campaigns;
- Total ban on labour brokers
- Fight against job losses and retrenchments
- Defend collective bargaining workers rights to strike
- Crush all forms of racism and xenophobia
- Demand a comprehensive social security system
- Demand a legislated national minimum wage
- Implementation of National Health Insurance
- Scrapping of e-tolls and implement an integrated, affordable public transport system
- Intensify our recruitment campaign
- 2016 Local Government Elections
