With the discussions around economic transformation and particularly, the transformation of the financial services sector now firmly at the centre of the government agenda and South Africa, the Co-operative Banks Development Agency (CBDA) will hold a session under the theme: “Facilitating economic transformation through co-operative banking”.
The main objective of the event is to encourage people to consider co-operative banks as a way of saving, particularly for small and medium sized businesses and groups. Speakers from the financial services sector will be speaking on, among other topics, why co-operative banking is still so relevant in SA and worldwide; benefits and challenges of co-operative banking; how co-operative banking and SMMEs potentially contribute to economic transformation; the role of co-operative banks in transforming economies; the journey to financial freedom through co-operative banking; the relevance of co-operative banking in South Africa.
