The African National Congress has noted with appreciation the concerns raised by the Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng on the need for capacity, budget and infrastructure for effective performance of this important arm of the state.

It is the view of the ANC that urgent intervention be made to sure that the judiciary which shoulders the hopes of our nation and victims who expect recourse from our courts are not disappointed due to incapacity of the judiciary.

We also believe that a resourced judiciary will be able to assert its independence and perform expeditiously on its mandate. The government must assist in addressing these concerns urgently.
