Civil rights organisation, AfriForum’s legal team will approach the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria tomorrow morning, in an attempt to obtain an urgent interdict, compelling the Vhembe District Municipality in Limpopo to provide water for its residents, who’ve been struggling without water for months.
This comes after AfriForum placed the district municipality on terms to provide water to the residents of Louis Trichardt (Makhado) as the mandated water provider, but the municipality ignored the organisation’s requests.
The respondents in the case is Limpopo Premier, Cassel Mathale, the Minister of Water Affairs, Edna Molewa, the Makhado Municipality and the Vhembe District Municipality.
