AfriForum has launched their second “SLIM Video” - for the promotion of the organisation’s SLIM Campaign - among great excitement. SLIM stands for Study and Learn In your Mother Language.
The campaign was launched last year to inform as many prospective students and learners as possible about the great value mother language education will contribute to their career.
In the brand new video, successful young people, including amongst others furniture designer, David Krynauw, food expert and chef, Reuben Riffel and entrepreneur Karen van Emmenes express their feelings about being Afrikaans and the value of Afrikaans as language of instruction.
“We are increasingly becoming aware of Afrikaans being under threat in schools and universities, but when learners and students insist on receiving education in Afrikaans, it’ll prosper as highly functional language,” Carien Bloem, Project Co-ordinator of the SLIM Campaign says.
AfriForum calls on everyone to watch the new video on the AfriForum YouTube channel, on www.afriforum.co.za or on the AfriForum Facebook page. Click here!
And when they’re watching, they might as well watch the first “SLIM Video” – which was launched last year – too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e38WDLqkvr0.
“Make the smart choice. Watch the video, share it and make the message your own. Study and learn in your mother language!”
