Organised by the Universities of Cape Town, Witwatersrand and KwaZulu-Natal, the Annual Labour Law Conference is the largest of its kind in Southern Africa and attracts the attendance of some 1000 labour practitioners and human resources professionals.  It provides the ideal opportunity for trade unions, government officials, HR managers, labour practitioners, lawyers and business leaders to keep abreast of latest trends and hot issues in the labour market and to participate in debate to resolve some of the current employment challenges. Among other key topics, this year’s conference will address the amendments to the Labour Relations Act coming into force on the back of divisions within COSATU, as well as the imminent arrival of a national minimum wage and the implications of load shedding on South African employers.
